After arriving at the London Air Ambulance fundraiser event and interacting with several people, Prince William happened to meet again with Tom Cruise. Was it a complete coincidence? Perhaps.
Their meeting came after Prince William resumed duty after his wife, Kate Middleton, underwent abdominal surgery and was recovering. Meanwhile, William’s father, King Charles had also been diagnosed with cancer.
Amid all the saddening health issues, Prince William still made it to attend the London Air Ambulance fundraiser.
Before attending the event, Prince William hosted a celebration at Windsor Castle in the morning. In the evening, Prince William took a trip to London for the gala dinner organized by the Air Ambulance.
On his arrival, Prince William responded to questions regarding the public’s support amid the family’s strive with health troubles. During the interviews, he got to appreciate the public’s support by saying, “We really appreciate everyone’s kind messages. Thank you.”
Why Did the Prince Set Aside a Moment to Attend the Event?
Surprisingly, Prince William is a former Air Ambulance pilot. He served at East Anglia. That is why he developed a passion for supporting the emergency crew in various ways.
The Prince has supported the London Air Ambulance for over four years and during this event, the organization was hoping to collect donations to attain their target of $19 million before or by fall.
The London Air Ambulance is responsible for getting emergency services to different scenes quickly through air access. They provide their services across the UK. Due to their efforts, they have helped out more than 45,000 people since 1989.
During the gala dinner, the Prince was granted the opportunity to fly the organization’s helicopter as they celebrated their 30th anniversary. Also, Prince William took the time to interact with some former patients, crew members, and the surprise guest, Tom Cruise.
Prince William and Tom Cruise Share a Moment, Too!
Tom Cruise and the Prince’s meeting was rather unexpected. With both being in tuxedos and black bow ties, one would think they had planned the whole event.
Prince William and Cruise got into a photo shoot together and looked composed and in a great mood. Later, William’s team posted their photo on social media captioned, “Fancy seeing you here @TomCruise!” alongside a helicopter emoji.
This was not the first time the two had met coincidentally. They also met at the premiere of Top Gun: Maverick held in London. And, Tom Cruise had also attended Princess Diana’s, William’s mom, 1997 funeral.
