The Relationship of Aaron Carter’s Father and Ginger Elrod
It all started with relationship issues between Jane Elizabeth Carter, Aaron’s mom, and Robert Gene Carter, Aaron’s dad. The couple were happily married and enjoyed a celebrity lifestyle with their five children: Bobbie Jean, Nick, Leslie, and twins Angel and Aaron.
Trouble knocked on the door when Jane Elizabeth started developing an unhealthy relationship with alcohol. Her drinking habit gradually feasted on her relationship with the kids and Robert, who then started dating a much younger woman, Ginger Elrod.
Robert and Jane’s relationship grew apart to the extent that Robert was charged with domestic assault against Jane in 2003. The incident happened on the family’s boat right after Robert got drunk.
When Jane Elizabeth caught wind of Robert’s affair with Ginger Elrod, she turned to alcohol for solace. In 2004, Jane was arrested for attacking Ginger Elrod. She was accused of pulling Ginger’s hair, throwing a remote at her, and physically battering Ginger Elrod.
Aaron Carter’s parents eventually divorced.
Ginger Elrod and Robert Carter’s Marriage and Relationship with the Children
On the 1st of April 2004, Ginger Elrod’s title officially changed from girlfriend to wife. The love birds got married in Key West, Florida. Among those who attended the wedding were Aaron Carter and his sister, Angel Carter.
From the start of Ginger’s relationship with Robert, the kids had a great relationship with Ginger. That did not change when she became their stepmom.
Ginger Elrod had a five-year-old daughter, Taelyn Dobson when she got married. Robert and Ginger welcomed Kaden Carter into the family before the demise of Robert. He died at the age of 65 on the 16th of May 2017.
Unfortunately, Aaron died on the 5th of November 2022, aged 34.
